The Author is al-Allaamah, the Haafidh of al-Maghrib, Abu 'Umar Yusuf bin 'Abdullaah bin Muhammad bin 'Abdul Barr bin 'Aasim an-Namri al-Andaloosi al-Qurtubi al-Maliki the Author of the Famous book "at-Tamheed" which is an Explanation of al-Muwatta. This Book was written at the Request a Student of Knowledge during the time of ash-Shaykh 'Abdul Barr to write this book which is summary in Maliki fiqh so that he can study more about Fiqh issues that pertain to the Maliki Madhhab.
